Grammar Guidelines
To reduce manuscript review time and ensure a quality submission, authors are encouraged to brush up on basic grammar rules.

Promotion
The JAOA encourages authors to actively promote their articles through press releases, social media, or other outlets.

Multimedia
Audio and video content can take your manuscript to the next level.
Quality HD videos can be filmed at home with a webcam or on a smartphone, and JAOA staff can help. Authors are encouraged to submit videos displaying the action of the study, whether the video shows how the study was conducted, patient examination, and/or before & after successes.
Please direct any questions or concerns regarding multimedia submissions to jaoa@osteopathic.org.
Five Tips for Video Quality:
1. Wide Shots
All cell phone videos should be filmed horizontally
2. Natural Light
For the best quality and to help colors pop, shoot with natural light, but without direct sunlight. Light should shine from behind the camera to your focal point. Windows are a great source of natural light!
3. Watch Your Fingers
Keep your fingers away from the lens and mic
4. Steady Shot
Be sure your camera is in a still spot where it won’t be jolted around
5. Background
Pay attention to the sights and sounds in the background
